A Gem in the Village

The ground floor holds the entrance, living room, dining room, a kitchen with pantry, a bathroom, the laundry and the double garage. Upstairs, four double bedrooms, a second bathroom and two further rooms. In the separate annex, a generous studio with room for a third bathroom. The renovation used quality materials throughout and kept the Mallorcan face of the house: fitted wardrobes, fireplace, double glazing, pellet stove, underfloor heating, hot and cold air conditioning, a barbecue area and a private well.

The 45 m² courtyard sits between the two parts of the building and is the quiet heart of the house. Porches and terraces adjoin it to the rear, 85 m² in total, and beyond them a 200 m² garden screened from the neighbours. An architect has already drawn up a project for a six-by-four-metre pool in that garden, so the permit can be applied for.

Campos is one of those Mallorcan villages that have kept their character. The weekly market is still a meeting point, the terraces on the village square fill up at coffee time, and the fincas and mills around it recall the farming past. Everyday life is covered: Mercadona, Eroski, Lidl and the local shops in the centre, the Centre de Salut Xaloc with its 24-hour emergency service in the village. There are no international schools in Campos itself; the well-known ones in Palma are 35 to 40 minutes away, the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor around 25.
